Flashing Your VU+ Duo With A USB Stick
Easiest method is by USB make sure its formatted to fat32.

1. Download the USB version of any image.

2. Unrar and send the vuplus folder to your USB stick. Or in some cases you may need to make a folder named vuplus then inside that folder create another named duo. The send the boot, kernel and root file to the duo folder.

3. Turn off the power at the back of the VU rear of the VU+ you'll find the switch near the power cable. Insert your USB stick in the front USB port.

4. Turn back on the power.

On the front display you'll see reading USB device, this takes a while then you'll see erasing then programming.
It will then tell you to remove USB and reboot. Reboot with the power switch at the back

How TO View ITV HD Using Dreamset
1. Start Dreamset.
2. On the Dreamset taskbar click transfer and then read.
3. Now you see your settings in Dreamset. From the organize lists tab find ITV HD.
4. Highlight ITV HD right click and select service properties.
5.Now set the properties up as per the pic below. Just highlight and type directly into the service properties popup.

6. When finished select OK.
7. Add a folder to your desktop named setting.
8. On the Dreamset taskbar click save as and direct to your folder.
9. Now Dreamset taskbar click transfer and then write.
10 After Dreanset confirms the settings have transfered leave for a further 2 mins and then kill the power at the plug. This is important so enigma is forced to use your new settings.
11. Turn on the power and ITV HD should now work Video & Audio.

Flashing with USB stick
« Reply #12 on: March 07, 2010, 07:20:07 PM »

Flashing with USB stick

You can upgrade Vu+ Duo using USB memory stick, which is totally OS independent method.

================================================== =================

After builing the mbox-image, you can find following three files in the images folder.

1) mbox-image-bm750-xxxxxxxxxxxx.rootfs.jffs2
2) mbox-image-bm750-xxxxxxxxxxxx.vmlinux.gz
3) mbox-image-bm750-xxxxxxxxxxxx.boot.jffs2

Rename is as follows

1) root_cfe_auto.jffs2
2) kernel_cfe_auto.bin
3) boot_cfe_auto.jffs2

In USB memory stick, make \\vuplus\duo\ folder and copy the above 3 files to it.
(Make vuplus folder first and then make the subfolder duo )

Now USB memory stick has following 3 files at \\vuplus\duo\ folder.

1) \\vuplus\duo\root_cfe_auto.jffs2
2) \\vuplus\duo\kernel_cfe_auto.bin
3) \\vuplus\duo\boot_cfe_auto.jffs2

Insert USB Memory stick into the front USB socket and then Power Off / On the VuPlus.

After power-on, VuPlus Duo automatically start upgrade using the files in the USB memroy stick.

You can see the progress at the front VFD display.

After upgrade is finished, VFD will say that "Finished ...please reboot"

Then be sure to remove the USB, and then Power Off/On the VuPlus STB.

How to Canal Digital with Fausto & newcamd
Canal Digitaal with Fausto & newcamd in VU + Duo

Condition:

- A PC
- Dbox2 / Dreambox / q-box One / VU + Duo with a functioning network
- Diablo Key bin
- Fausto 1:43

Method

1st Fausto 1.43 install

2nd Fausto start

3rd Language select (Settings-Language German.sil)
---> Settings -> Language -> German.sil click -> Open

4th Fausto Emulator (Welkugel enlarge)

5th current KEYS.BIN Shop (always best to copy the root directory Fausto, they can be found quickly)
---> Tools -> Emulator -> indicate there under the tab "Monitor" the appropriate path to KEYS.BIN

5th then open under the tabs "Server" -> "Configuration" FaustoServers.cfg

The contents of this file, I've cleared and re-fed with my own data:

Example:

Quote
N: 192.168.1.11 6001 0102030405060708091011121314 0622/000000 ()

U: dummy dummy

Go to Definition:

192.168.1.11 = IP address of the PC
6001 = one in the router shared TCP port
0622 = channel ID of C + NL
00000 = provider used by C + NL
U: dummy dummy = User & Pass indiscriminately used for server access to Fausto

7th CCcam.cfg at Dream Edit

Example:

Quote
N: 192.168.1.11 6001 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 256

Where the information is the same here as in the FaustoServers.cfg. The declaration of the 256 is optional. So you can bring in the newly created "virtual" card in a sharing network.

8th Launch Manager (Manager tab, press the Load, then click Start)

Among clients you can see whether you are connected, if it is not the same, just in hiss broadcasters can switch back and forth, it takes a few seconds.

Mil gracias a k98
