Get a usb pen drive format it fat32

load the HDS2_DUMP.abs onto it, place in the box at the back via the usb port.

Go into the menu and update the firmware via usb. This will give you the latest firmware

Channels are sorted into favourites and removed the tiresome channels that can cause us a bit of problem.

Iif you use your own channels some sky sports channels cause a reboot loop. The quickest way to fix is pull the sat wire out, reboot, change channel, then remove it from your fav's. PIck another sky sports channels as there are normally doubles of every sky sports channels.

Im currently in discussion with the manufacturers of this Skybox S9/Openbox S9 they want me to send them videos of the issues we are facing with these STB's.

Need video for the reboot issue
Need video for aspect ratio on some channels not setting to 16:9
Audio glitches

Any thing else pls let me know so i can forward to them. Pls keep the file sizes as small as possible but clear video of issue.

Thanks for dump files. I tried to update and it seems to read from USB pen and burns image, but after reboot it still shows "version HDS2-10-07-12:0290CMT" *31*

July is the latest firmware there is no Aug firmware as of yet. I have checked and double checked with the manufacturers. They want feedback with the current issues with the July firmware.

1. In 480i NTSC mode the color is tinted green in the composite output. Many people are using these receivers on old SD tube televisions in North America and this has been a major issue since the June firmware.

Sorting/adding favorites is tricky. When you start adding favorites it sometimes removes favorite symbol from channels you marked before, if don't save favorites after adding each channel. And yes, green picture if you want to watch it through SVideo cable. tooo

Hi Guys my first post, found this site while searching about skybox. I have just received one (thanks for the dumps above). The box does what I want it to do but is there any easy way of editing the channels ? Something on the style of dreambox edit or azbox edit. Good receiver for the price .... so far happy with my purchase.

Also, do a search for "A200_Ariva_TS_Tool" which will let you save recordings as .TS files that can be edited and played on your computer.

When you hav time make me a short video i can send it to the manufacturers. Ccam works fine i hav no card to test with, but i think there are others with the same issue as you.

A short video + photo of MGCamd config. I did activate DHCP and checked if it did update IP and it did. Router is DHCP enabled. It tries to connect, but after short while "login fail!" When I copied configured "newcamd.list" on to receiver I did restart receiver after that was what in the video. Do I need to configure anything else? If so, how? Should receiver appear in device list on PC when it's connected to a router where PC is connected to?

i know with cccam you have to update the file by usb with your cline
then go into manage accounts , cccam .. put a tick on the account just created by usb
then reboot the box.

How to use the settings editor?

- I downloaded first the receiver settings (*.dbs)
- then tried to read this file with the editor and
- got an error during I tried to open the file "not support that file"

Any sugestions?

Change the extension from .dbs to .abs and the editor will then read it. After editing, change it back to .dbs so that the receiver can read it.

A .dbs file is the same format as a .abs file except that it only includes channel data and no firmware. That's why when you change the suffix, the editor knows how to handle it. To the receiver, however, a .abs file is a firmware file that may also contain settings, channel data, etc. If it doesn't contain firmware the receiver sees it as invalid and won't load it. So they made a new extension of .dbs to distinguish it from firmware, so the receiver will know how to handle it.

Are you trying to access the receiver with a computer via the ethernet port? That functionality hasn't been enabled in the firmware at this time.

OK... I went to network settings, put DHCP to ON, then apply, then restarted receiver (with stanby) went into network settings again and saw IP address have been updated automatically, then I dumped MGcamd file on to a usb stick, put stick into pc, changed settings to desired ones within that file, saved it, took stick back into receiver, upgraded MGcamd by USB, safely removed stick, restarted receiver (with standby). When restarted, message came on: Starting MGcam Plug, connecting to:"my server", then 5 sec later on the same screen: Login Fail! receiver switched itself on. Login details in MGcamd file are definitely right...

Oh, I'm using HDS2-10-07-12:0290CMT

Just arrived and all ok as client with CCCAM but the only thing is the channel list editing, hope that someone find solutions like the drembox, an easy way to upgrade the settings.

Image quality in HD is very good and also fast in channel change. On sky IT done a very long zapping without any reboot.

Now a question is if someone can find the way to get in to the decoder, FTP or TELNET, trough the lan port, could be really great.

Here is the channel editor program for the Solomend 800HD pvr/ Openbox S9 / Skybox S9 / SatHawk 800 pvr boxes.

Advanced users: You can use that file to do PID editing also. You can't do manual editing of PID data on the receiver itself. For most channels (99%), this is not required.

Can you confirm if you are attempting CS from a server (PC) or whether you are getting your Sub card working directly in the box?
I am just trying to get an NDS card working directly in the box so i can take advantage of the PVR features.

I'm new to this forum ...and after searching forums I belong to already ...found little or nothing on this newish box
So was pleased to find it being discussed here ..
I've had mine for less than 3 days ...and am fairly impressed with its functonality for a relatively small price compared to other more mainstream boxes.
I primarily wanted it for feed hunting and C band reception ..so its controlling a big 1.8m dish at the moment..
I have a couple of observations/questions regarding the box.
Firstly there doesn't appear to be a way to directly step from one satellite to another ...just step through by channel selection ..
This makes for a very slow and noisy operation when trying to swing the big dish from say 30East to 55 West ...
it would be nice to be able to 'step out' of the channel list ...move directly to the satellite of choice then step back in as you can on an AZbox or IP9000..
Secondly ..the created pvr saved files are of a non standard format ...so wont play back on a pc..
Is there some coversion utill which can change the format ?
Thirdly ...I would like to be able to press a single remote button and take a jpg snapshot of the screen ...as can be done on the AZbox...preferably with on screen menus captured as well if possible..
And finally ...If it were possible to have the S9HD display 4:2:2 feeds ..this box would be a feedhunters delight..
Maybe it could be done in a future firmware ? ...assuming the hardware is compatible..
All in all though ...one of the most versatile inexpensive sat box I've ever seen..

It was my understanding that recent units came with a Satellite List button on the remote. If you have a unit with the original (horrible) remote, assuming that you have any of the last several firmware versions, the ZOOM button on the remote will bring up a satellite list.

It's a transport stream file with some additional headers. The attached program will strip it down to a .ts file. Recent versions of Windows Media Player play .ts files (or at least they do on Windows 7), or the free program VLC will play them on any operating system.

Thank you for your answer but the (NM_HDS2_CMT_1006180413) I think it is the last firmware I install; but if you have the very last firmware, thank you for sending me link to dowload it.

Latest July fimware is on page 1 of this thread posted by antox my version is on page 3 of this thread. BUT after you install it you would have to do a factory reset delete all channels and do a fresh Blindscan to pick up all the channels in your area (my version is for Sly uk only, due to fixed dish)

Firmware includes Ccam version 2.1.4

Channel info bar seen when changing channels and when pressing "INFO" the first time now includes a progress bar for EPG data loading on the current channel.

Pressing "INFO" twice now brings up an enhanced EPG for the current channel with times, titles and program descriptions, as well as video, audio, and PCR PIDS and SID.

A third press of the "INFO" button gives the usual Channel, Satellite, Transponder, PID, Signal Intensity and Signal Quality indicators.

The CA Slot Setting menu now includes a selection to "Edit BOXID".

Thank you for this new firmware (irfy); (pozz) indeed there is news but it didn’t solve the problem of the HD channels in french.

I don’t know why…

If I knew the producer, I could send him a message but it doesn’t exist an official website for this receiver.

On the other hand, on the german HD channels everything is ok.

 

Moreover, I put my official sim card from my package directly: it is well taken but it appears “scrambled channels” on the HD channels…

It is a real problem with this receiver. jhvybnlm

 

I also remark that there is with this new firmware, the last version of CCcam 2.1.4.

 

If only someone could take this post and transmit it to the producer of this receiver!

I have passed on your comments regarding French HD channels im awaiting a response. I cant guarantee anything will happen but its worth a try.

Check with any other french users to confirm same issue if you can. I will post back once i hear anything.

Channel info bar seen when changing channels and when pressing "INFO" the first time now includes a progress bar for EPG data loading on the current channel.

Pressing "INFO" twice now brings up an enhanced EPG for the current channel with times, titles and program descriptions, as well as video, audio, and PCR PIDS and SID.

A third press of the "INFO" button gives the usual Channel, Satellite, Transponder, PID, Signal Intensity and Signal Quality indicators.

The CA Slot Setting menu now includes a selection to "Edit BOXID".

Is that soon we will have Oscam will work on this wonderful receiver?

Still "Login Fail" message comes on, but it works and there are issues with DRE Crypt, as box does send one request, but that's it. Opens achannel, but doesn't sent any more requests. its doing like this on cccam on 7w nilesat osn and pehla channnels
but on skyit its ok status comes ok in cccam info as welll.
but nilesat channels some channels satus ok but other channels its freezez and send first reques open the channels thats set.

Hi peeps I wanted to be open and honest with you im a complete noob!! You guys know a lot more than i do. This is my first proper STB ive had plenty cable boxes in the past. Im a part time technician i build some superclocked machines thats were my knowledge is. Im still learning about these boxes myself, I have a contact who sends on information to the engineers who build these STB's in China. Ive been asked to pass on short videos of problems im having. These get passed on for future fixes im hoping. I get asked for feedback I give it the best I can. I only have a fixed dish so i cant try other sats. My view is that these boxes are cheap and very good pic quality for the price we pay. I did mention that the remotes are quite bad and need revamping. Ive only had ccam running for like over a month now. I have not tried any cards or server, MGcamd or Newcamd to be honest im not even sure what they are still.

Best thing to do in my opinion is to take a short clear video of the issues you are facing send them to me. I will forward them on. I think the chinese may find it hard to understand our issues hence why they want videos of the problems.  I bought my box off ebay and these guys are still trying to help, im gona have to sell my box just so i can get another from these guys direct, this way if there is any new firmware released it should be sent to me more or less straight away. What we need is some super bright software engineer to take a good look at this firmware and make it rock solid for everyone.  Anyone up for the challenge??

I confirm problem for french channel, receiver want get key on 3317, it should be 3311 or 3315, that is the reason of the problem.
As we can't use CCcam.prio, the modification must be done in firmware

Hi anyone I have just purchased a Skybox S9 HD PVR. and I am trying to fill out to add CCcam line on the line where it has Host it will only take 16 letters but my host has given me 25 letters and it will not take the full line . how do i solve this?

in the dotted line you have to fill in the details with the remote control but in the line were it has host my line is more than 16 letters how do I fix this, has this only allows me 16 letters but I require 25 to put in that line.. is any one know how to fix this?

1 Click Menu -> System Setup -> TV System -> Video Resolution this will return to the default setting of [1080i 60] after each upload, if your TV has a refresh rate of 50Mhz then set the video resolution to [1080i 50] and the picture will become clear now press exit
Now select Local Time Settings and set it as follows if your in the UK:
1 GMT Usage ... ON
2 GMT Offset .. UTC+00:00
3 Summer Time . ON
now click exit and exit again
Now select Network Local Setting and if your router supports DHCP then set it to On
otherwise you will need to configure the settings manually, once you have set it up click Apply then exit
Finally click CCcam Plug Setting, if you already have an active cccam.cfg file transfer it to a USB Stick insert the stick into the USB connection on the rear of the receiver and click Update Files By USB then select Option 1 in the popup box and click the OK button then click the Yellow button and your cccam.cfg files will be transfered

Looks like your signal density and quality is lower than should be. Stable picture will come if signal density is 80% and signal quality 55% at least

thanks for your answer but i dont mean the signal im talking about the sharing using cccam suscription i have dream box and it works 100 100 but once i installed the cccam.cfg on sky box after that if i`m watching any scrambled channel its not stable always cut and back again it makes me not enjoing at all and for your information the channel signal is 88 and the cccam subscription is working fine with dream box without even on cut

What channels are you trying to watch? There is known issue with Dre Crypt!

any kind of scrambled channel openining and after some time give scrambled massage and open again and that happens in very short time like every 3 or 4 min please advise

you're right, guigui62 not solve the problem at all, the problem of this decoder and 'right to insist that we hope to resolve because it' seems to me that perhaps underestimated problem for the European market!

Hi do ur FTA channels work? twin protocol must be to do with serial port, dont need to do anything with that menu.

You can try firmware under openbox s9 section posted by antox (sorted by Laurel) I have tried this firmware on skybox s9 and it works they are both the same box with diff name. There are more sats in that firmware.

the fta channels working more than perfect but the problem its freezing from time to time when i`m using cccam to decrypt the channels

Are you using ccam now with openbox s9 firmware? is it working ok for you? how hav you connected to internet. I first used a homeplug my router was on the 3rd floor in my house my picture used to freeze quite often (due to attic being on separate ring on fuse box). I then had to bring my router downstairs near the STB i now plug in direct into router i hardly get freezes now.

The server you connect to can also make a difference. Also if other people use your internet for downloading or uploading that can greatly affect the performance.

i understood but i think the problem coming from cccam plug because i have dream box working in the same connection without any kind of freezing i also upgraded the soft to the one for open box same thing

By the way, I love this box! So easy to work with. I had now also Dreambox DM800 HD for a week now and it's way too complicated! Skybox/Openbox S9 also works in much lower temperature compared with DM800. Few bad point from me would be - EPG. It's so bad compared to DM800, and I also heard that Skybox have problems with DRE Crypt, but I'm still to check that myself... a025

dip are you sure your c line can open the channels that are scrambled ,cccam can only open the channels that a c line allows . check with who ever gave you the c line as to wether you should have the missing channels.

if you go into the cccam plug setting menu, then into mange config files, then choose CCcam.cfg your cline will appear, now press the info button and a list of all providers supported by your cline will appear.
if one hd channel within a package is working and another hd channel within the same package is not working well then there is a problem but if its two different providers/packages then its a server issue, remember not all servers have cards for all packages

With new firmware(august 31 2010) I get my cccam working fine, after many dissapointments yeaah (it freezes often...evry 2-5 min) .
I get moast of HD channels working fine.

Evrything is working fine after a fresh channel scan....after I reboot my skybox evrything that worked previously (before restart) gets scrambled ?! I i do an entire channelscan all over again (only astra 19,2 and 23,5) i get it to work until restart poguzi

Also i cant get my second cam line to work (keeps saying server offline)...but then again i can live with one line (covers all channels I like to watch)

thanks for this but i have been watching a match in HD and getting nothing but stutters every 10-15 sec anybody else experience this i tried the same cline in a dm800 i have and there was no stuttering so ruled out the line

Some NL HD channels on Astra 23.5E (for example, RTL5 HD, RTL7 HD, NED3 HD) have the same problem, they give a 'scrambeled' message.
This is not a subscription issue because with the same configuration and a dreambox receiver those channels open OK.

Just tested with this latest firmware and for NL on the channels above still the scrambeled message.
Is there any way to debug this problem? (As it is a closed receiver)

Edit the replace.list X: { { 1811 } { 0100 } }
Copy the replace.list file to usb and update it by mgcamd.
it works on France HD.
If people has any cccam bugs, please record the stream in scrambled mode , and upload to internet, email to me , I will contract with the manufactory.

I have a issue here, on cine sky, on brazilian DTH called SKY (Directv). On movie channel the receiver says there's subtitle avaliable on some channels, but it doesn't allow me activate them.
Here are the pics. On other receivers used for cardsharing they are able to see the selected subtitles normally.

I received the box on tuesday, since then, i already tested all firmwares since 1005 and the subtitles aren't still not working.

What's exactly your question?
Twin protocol is for satellite sharing, you have to use a additional dongle connected to another satellite dish to receive the decoding keys to open the channels..

anyone can help me. I am having Openbox S9 HD brought it from www.hypermegasat.com (http://www.hypermegasat.com)

Intially it didn't supported any CA Cards (Seca, 1rd3t0 2) but when I upgrade the frimware to EU Factory.



It does support 1rd3t0 2 and SECA Cards but the 1rd3t0 2 channels shows some times message "scarmbled" and the channels freezes, every after 1 minute.



any new frimware which better support IRDETO2 and SECA....

You are right my 1rd3t0 2 still didn't worked well with the new frimware. The channel shows for couple of minutes and freezes.. it works ok with CCCAM but when I use my 1rd3t0 2 Smart Card it didn't worked well? any solutions?

I tried both frimware which has been adviced to me.

I have tried 3 firm wares. The original, then a openbox firmware from August and then the last firmware from 1.10.210. But I didn't get the HD channels with this receiver.

I have now two DVR files from same recorded movie.

The one recorded in a AZAMERICA s808

shows subtitle if you convert to TS with TS doctor and play with VLC player.

The other recorded in a Openbox s9

says it's subtitle avaliable but won't show


Also when watching on "live" on s808 shows the subtitle, and with s9 doesnt show.

Alright Irfy , hows tricks? I havent been here in a while. Any idea what this new firmware does?

New improved Remote control. Im glad the manufacturers are listening to us. Thanx Antox for editing my post. The new firmware was emailed to me on the day they didnt provide me with any fixes info tho.

I was looking for a solution as the latest update is not fixxing it.

I've an openbox s9 HD since about 2 month.

I've a problem with some freezing programs on Canalsat (french) in CCam since the first time I put it ON.

Do you think I have to upgrade the firmware to NM_HDS2_CMT_1011161214 or HDS2_CMT_1011161216

I'm a beginner and I don't know a lot of things about this Box and SAT...

Update Files by USB-> replace.list [MGCamd Plug]

Now click either the OK or Green button to select
replace.list and place a check mark next to it, once the check mark or tick is visable
click the Yellow button to upload.

You can then if you wish, check to see if the replace list has been correctly added, by
clicking Manage Config Files and clicking on replace.list

If all went well, you will see the

This is a modified Dump file, and was released on [03 December 2010]

This dump file is based on the the latest official firmware release
[HDS2-10-11-08:1100CMT]

Included in the Dump file is a multi-satellite channel list.
The channel list default setting is DisEqC 1.2.
Coverage of the channel list is: 45east to 30west.
Included in the zip file is a replace.list [German HD Channels okay on Astra]
The channel list can also be used on a fixed dish setup, simply click the Zoom or SatList button, and select any satellite from the data base that you wish to access

Box not Booting Up
Ever since I loaded the latest firmware (16/11) I have had fairly regular problems of the box not booting up when I switch it on. What happens is that the front display ON light comes on but then goes out and we get no boot display. Have found that if I switch the box off and on at the back of the box about half a dozen times then eventually it boots up and everything is ok. Not sure if it is firmware related but I think it has only happened since I loaded the 16/11 (issued 24/11) firmware. Will probably revert back to the 8/11 firmware but thought I would post first to see if anyone else is having the same problem ? plz help

Does any one know how to get SLYuk card working inthis box for sharing as i have heard you need to put the boxkey and pin in the cccam config but i have no idea how to do it.

I suggest you revert it to the older firmware and make new tests to confirm if it's really the newest firmware.

My problem is that I can't find NTV+ channels on Eutelsat 36E.
Before blind scan I've put LNB freg.10750, but can't get channels on L and R polarisation, can't see Animal Planet, Discovery and others.
On Dreambox DM500 it's OK.
Please help me solve this problem.

I'm sorry, I've found his mistake.
When I've changed a position to DISEqC1.0 from DISEqC1.1, I get all channels on Eutelsat 36E.
There was a problem with relay comunication 4.8E, 13.0E, 19,2E and 36.0E.
Openbox S9 is working fine, before I has Openbox X800 and Dreambox DM500.

I flashed this firmware yesterday and I can say - works! but EPG still doesn't work correctly ( loadning too long or disappear spontaneously), rest working fine and stability.

The firmware CHDS2_CMT_110404047A/CHDS2_CMT_110404047 doesn't work properly with SKY Italia smart card.
Any channels are not opened because of a wrong ECM comunication with server!!

The same channel works fine with an original Dreambox.

1.Upgrade our latest software
2.press menu---tool---information(press ok)---press 777777 key.

If you see CCID is 0201 and one of "00D0/00EA/085B/0D0C/98A1/98F2/9CF4/9D1A“. Congratulatations! your HD Receiver is original!! You can upgrade our any firmware and experience and enjoy much more more new functions. if your STB`s CCID is other datas, please don`t upgrade any new formware, otherwise , your HD receivers will be killed!!

my CCID is valid 085B but after 10 restarts i've got CLONE info.
please take a look at picture. under clone info there is VALID CCID 085B:

i can't back to firmware which was working before becasue this clone info displayed even on my backup DUMP. i used Erom upgrade tool with checked option "include bootloader" but same clone info.

Get a usb pen drive format it fat32

load the HDS2_DUMP.abs onto it, place in the box at the back via the usb port.

Go into the menu and update the firmware via usb. This will give you the latest firmware

Channels are sorted into favourites and removed the tiresome channels that can cause us a bit of problem.

Iif you use your own channels some sky sports channels cause a reboot loop. The quickest way to fix is pull the sat wire out, reboot, change channel, then remove it from your fav's. PIck another sky sports channels as there are normally doubles of every sky sports channels.
