More than 247,000 digital TVs sold in Portugal

More than 247,000 digital TV sets were sold in Portugal between January and November last year, according to consultancy GfK.
In Portugal, broadcasters are obliged to broadcast in digital in the DVB-T MPEG-4 standard, meaning they are ready to offer HDTV services. Portuguese DTT began transmitting in April 2009.
Lower prices for equipment have led to good sales. The average price of these equipments were â,¬640 last year in comparison with â,¬1,490 one year before.
