Utilities and usages for upgrading your box

You have two choices to upgrade firmware of your vu+ box.
One is using PC program and the other is using USB memory stick.
You can freely choose upgrade method at your convenience.

How to install Barry Allen at Duo +
Steps
(CONNECTED WITHOUT HDD)
1 Install any image for usb
2 Log in via telnet and set a pass. User root. By default, there is none (paswrd)
3 pillar the pendrive or BurryAllen par card and format it from linux to ext3 (PC!)
4 Connect via ftp (DCC2, for example), and install BurryAllen.
5 Initialize the pen from BA. (If not in linux format, NOT formatting and installation fails!)
6 Install images.
7 Connect the HDD

VTI Softcam Manager for VUPlus Image

- VTI Softcam Manager for the original image in the list of available add-ons.
- VTI feed additives to download from the server VTI - VTI-rename feed.conf the official-feed.conf and replace the original

WARNING! Some additives may be incompatible due to the difference in the version of Enigma (VTI = ver.2.6, vuplus ver. 2.8

Vu+ Settings Backup Tool V1.2 by Lee

This util will make a backup of your Vu+ settings, Channel List, Satellites, Dish Positions, Radio Stations, Favourites, Timezone.

Unzip Instructions

Unzip all the files in this archive to your local HDD.

Instructions
------------------

To get the IP number of the Vu+ Press Menu on Vu+ Remote Control.
Select Setup and Press OK
Select System and Press OK
Select Network and Press OK
Select Network Test and Press OK

This will show the Vu+ IP Address, example 192.168.1.7

Program Instructions
---------------------------------

1. Run the Vu_Settings_backup.exe program.
2. Enter the IP address of your Vu+ in the IP Address field
3. If you have changed the password on your receiver, enter the password in the password field otherwise leave blank.
4. Click Connect Button

Now click on BACKUP button.
This will backup all the settings files from the Vu+ to the /enigma2 and /tuxbox folders on your PC HDD.
The /enigma2 and /tuxbox folders will be created in the same folder as this program.

To RESTORE your Vu+ settings after flashing a new Image simply do the following.

1. Run the Vu_Settings_backup.exe program.
2. Enter the IP address of your Vu+ in the IP Address field
3. If you have changed the password on your receiver, enter the password in the password field otherwise leave blank.
4. Click Connect Button

Now click on the RESTORE button.

All your backup data will be restored to the /etc/enigma2 and /etc/tuxbox folders on the Vu+
Once the files have successfully been restored you'll need to reboot the receiver by powering off and on using the switch on
the back of the receiver.

What is it?
-------------
This plugin allows your DreamBox to download updated SoftCam.Key & constant.cw
from remote server.
You don't need any more to download updated keys and send them to the box by
using FTP connection.

How to on Enigma 1
------------
Copy TechsatKeyDownloader.sh in /var/tuxbox/plugins.
Change File Attributes to 755 (both).
Exit DCC.
Push YELLOW button in your DB remote and go to Installed Plugins.
Select TechsatKeyDownloader and press Ok.
That's all. Just close Info Box by pressing Exit and... Enjoy.

How to on Enigma 2
------------
Copy TechsatKeyDownloader.sh in /var/script.
Change Files Attributes to 755 (both).
Exit DCC.
Pressing the YELLOW button and then the BLUE button on the remote you
accesses at the installed Plugins.
Select TechsatKeyDownloader and press Ok.
That's all. Just close Info Box by pressing Exit and... Enjoy.
