Disney Channel is coproducing a TV movie
Disney Channel is coproducing a TV movie with family programming specialist MarVista Entertainment, to air on the children's network in the US later this year.
Sixteen Wishes stars Debby Ryan (The Suite Life on Deck) as a girl who cannot wait to grow up, but runs into trouble when she's granted 16 wishes on her 16th birthday. It is being billed by Disney as a "funny and aspiration movie about realising the true meaning of the universal theme, 'be careful what you wish for.'"
It's slated for a stateside summer 2010 premiere and will then roll-out across Disney Channel's worldwide networks.
Peter DeLuise (Princess Protection Programme) is directing, while MarVista's Michael D Jacobs and Fernando Szew executive produce, along with Ron French from coproduction partner Unity Pictures Group. Robyn Snyder of MarVista is producing.
