Deutsche Telekom aiming for 3mn IPTV subs by end-2011

Deutsche Telekom is aiming to reach 2.5mn-3mn subscribers for its German IPTV service 'T-Home Entertain' by the end of 2011, according to Christian P. Illek, Marketing Manager for its German operations, speaking at the CeBIT show in Hanover.
Mr Illek added that the company hopes to add 600,000 IPTV subscribers during the course of this year. Deutsche Telekom had reached over 800,000 subscribers for T-Home Entertain by the end of 2009, and over 1mn packages sold.
The telco also revealed yesterday that it is planning to cut its brand name in Germany to 'T', as part of efforts to integrate its fixed-line and mobile operations in its home market.
