German health channel Focus Gesundheit has found a new distribution partner.

The pay-TV service will join Eutelsat's direct-to-cable platform KabelKiosk on 15 January.

Focus Gesundheit will form part of the FamilyXL package which will thereby grow to 33 channels with subscribers gaining access to the new addition at no extra charge. "We are excited about the collaboration with our new distribution partner", said Matthias Pfeffer, managing director and editor-in-chief of operating company Focus TV. "We fit perfectly into KabelKiosk's appealing offer which we will enrich through our exciting reportages and high-quality documentaries about humans and life."

Focus Gesundheit cut its ties with former distribution partner Sky Deutschland in early January on whose pay-TV platform it has been exclusively available since its launch on 1 June 2005. Through KabelKiosk the channel gains carriage on many small and medium-sized cable networks. Negotiations are believed to be underway with further platform operators.
