Influxis launches new ‘TVStation 2’

Wednesday, 24 February 2010 12:26

Influxis, the definitive standard for building and deploying interactive applications, has announced the launch of an industry-changing broadcast network application - built on the Adobe Flash Media platform - called TVStation 2.

It is a major upgrade to its popular predecessor TVStation application which lets clients create their own TV network capable of broadcasting and scheduling any type of media.

“Mainstream media continues to experience a major shakeup, in part because tools are emerging that give creative individuals and organizations the same distribution capabilities formerly reserved for the big guys,” said Richard Blakely, CEO of Influxis. “Our new TVStation application gives our clients the power to run their own 24-hour television network without the overhead and capital cost traditionally associated with broadcast video.”

The application can stream any combination of pre-recorded video content, YouTube HD video content, images, audio, and live broadcasts - all while enabling viewers to chat among themselves in real-time. Potential uses include shared online theater experiences, cable-like networks, live news reporting, media-centric social networks, live event broadcasting, television shows, audio or video advertising, music videos, private or public radio stations, live lectures, and product demonstrations.

Influxis clients can create and manage multiple custom TV channels directly from the TVStation 2 application. This channels feature also allows administrators to grant individual users their own password-protected channel - with a variety of security permissions - while still maintaining complete control of their entire personal TV network.

Using the latest features of Adobe Flash Media Server - such as Dynamic Stream Switching and h.264 HD video - TVStation 2 also utilizes Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server for automatic encoding of video at multiple bit rates for improved performance.

With the live broadcasting engine of TVStation 2, customers can stream live, high definition video directly from Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder with no need for a plug-in API. The new live engine also enables multiple users to broadcast to a TVStation simultaneously, with the account administrator acting as “producer” to control which incoming live feed is broadcast over the channel.

Other features include:

CDN recast: Instantly rebroadcast a live video stream through any compatible content delivery network.

New reporting interface: View analytics on media files and user interactions including number of times specific videos were watched, who watched, browser used and geographic location, per user or per media file over the course of a given time period.

Video tutorial system: First time users will have the option to see a series of video walk-through’s to facilitate application functionality, and the videos are also accessible in the Help guide for every user.

Advertising Banners: Includes a built-in dynamic banner advertising system per channel or per media item. This provides a chance for the administrative user to monetize their content.

TVStation 2 is available to all Influxis customers effective immediately.
