The UK's Press Association (PA) has secured the support of the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five and Sky to launch a comprehensive online guide to on-demand video.

The PA is already supplies TV listings information to 400 regional and local newspapers. The company has now partnered with software firm Vizimo to create FindMeTV (left).

The service has gone live as a beta product today and marks the PA's first consumer-facing proposition. FindMeTV will also be offered to the company's network of newspaper partners for use as a white label product on their own websites.

It brings together traditional TV listings with links to the VoD sources from which they're available. PA has started off with connecting users to UK broadcasters' catch-up TV programming but has plans to link back further into their archives.

Currently linked to the BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4OD, Demand Five and Sky Player, the service combines PA's listings database with technology from Vizimo, which in 2008 acquired online TV aggregator Tioti.

PA and Vizimo are also planning to launch a FindMeTV app for the iPhone, which will, over time, replace the existing Tioti TV one on the Apple platform.

"FindMeTV makes it simple to find your favourite shows and discover new ones by allowing users to search these destinations from one place," said PA MD Tony Watson.

"After the success of catch-up TV, we're anticipating that archive â€" which will give users access to all the greatest content that's ever been on TV â€" will be really important. FindMeTV has been designed to deal with a huge volume of content, and make that content easy to discover," added Vizimo CEO Simon Steward.
