Orange will start airing the leading Slovak station TV Markiza in 3D from today (April 11).

According to Medialne, the service will be available in Orange’s Fiber TV (IPTV service) basic package for no additional fee, though it will require a 3D TV to receive. 3D TVs can be bought from Orange in instalments.

TV Markiza, which is operated by Central European Media Enterprises (CME), will initially transmit programming converted into, rather than produced in, 3D.

It entered into a partnership with Orange to promote 3D last October.

Both UPC and the IPTV operator Swan already each include a 3D channel in their offers.
