Iliad-Free posts revenues up 25%

French telco Iliad, the parent company of internet providers Free and Alice, announced consolidated revenues up 24.9% in 2009 at â,¬1,955m.

The group said that 2009 was notably marked by “the confirmed attractiveness of the Free offering and the integration of Alice. At 31 December 2009, Iliad’s broadband ADSL subscriber base amounted to 4,456,000, compared to 4,225,000 at 31 December 2008.”

Free recruited an additional 389,000 subs over one year to reach 3.778 m subscribers, while Alice lost 158,000 subs. However, over the last three months of last year, Iliad recruited 36,000 additional subs compared to 100,000 the year before. And recruitments also fell in the second and third quarters.

Consolidated broadband revenues increased 26.4% in 2009 to reach 1.938m, while traditional telephony consolidated revenues went down 49.1% to 16.2m.

Unbundled subscribers represent 85.4% of the total.
