Lagardère’s TV and radio revenues down

Linked to 2009 consolidated revenues down 3.9% to â,¬7.9bn, French Media Group Lagardère announced its radio and television activities saw their revenues drop 12.8% in 2009 to â,¬454m.

Lagardère’s radio and TV holdings include RFM, Virgin Radio, Europe 1, Virgin 17, Tiji, CanalJ and Gulli.

While cable channel revenues fell again in the fourth quarter of 2009, DTT channels were the only ones to improve their performance with revenue growth close to 15%.

Globally, Lagardère Active (press and broadcast) digital activities accounted for 7.3% of the 2009 revenues (versus 6.2% in 2008), in line with the group target of 5%-10% of sales in 2009.
