Greek Nova platform tests for what will be his first high-definition channel

The first tests have been activated via the Eutelsat Hot Bird (13 ° East) in the 12,130-H frequency MHz (DVB-S, MPEG-4, SR 27500, 3 / 4) under the label of "TEST_srv_5thM. The signal is encrypted under the 1rd3t0 conditional access system 2, which uses Nova TV.

The Greek platform is one of the last to join the HDTV and might not have chosen a very appropriate time because of the rampant economic crisis to begin the first tests in high definition.

The pay-TV platform Nova (before MultiChoice Hellas), was launched in 1999 and his offer can be captured through Eutelsat's Hot Bird satellite (13 ° East). It offers a total of 50 television channels, radio stations and interactive services in Greece and Cyprus.

Nova has 350,000 subscribers, according to latest official figures last year.
