Info: Notepad + + is a text editor and source code open source under the GPL. It supports several programming languages running under the Microsoft Windows system (possible use on Linux via wine).

This project based on Scintilla, is written in C + + using the Win32 API and uses the STL. The aim of Notepad + + is to offer a slim and efficient binary with a graphical interface fully modifiable.

Notepad++, a source code editor and MS Windows Notepad replacement, has the mission to offer a greener environment. By optimizing its routines, it results in reducing CPU power consumption then reducing the world carbon dioxide emissions.

Under the pretext of cryptographic exportation control, US government made the major FOSS hosts (SourceForge, Google code, Fedora, etc...) in USA territory comply with the Export Administration Regulations. As a result they reject the access of FOSS resources from the 5 countries in the "black list" of US government.

It's not the first time that a government try to control Internet access to protect its interest. One of most famous examples is the Grand Firewall of China. Obviously the US government is walking into the footsteps of the Chinese government. In our case it's about the violation of FOSS community's right, we cannot just let it happen without doing something. It should never be any government to decide who has the access right to FOSS resource and who has not.

A walk around from SourceForge:
After complying with this law, SourceForge provided an option "Export Control: non-encryption algorithms included". A mail to make this option explicit was sent to all project managers on SF recently. It's the only FOSS host who offers such walk around as far as I know. We appreciate all their efforts and we will keep our binary releases on SourceForge.

Notepad++ ist ein freier Quellcode-Editor und Ersatz für Notepad.
Er unterstützt verschiedenste Sprachen. Obwohl das Programm in der MS Windows-Welt läuft, nutzt es die GPL-Lizenz.

Es basiert auf der mächtigen Editor-Komponente Scintilla. Notepad++ ist in C++ geschrieben, nutzt reine Win32-API-Funktionen und STL. Dies stellt eine schnelle Ausführung sowie eine kleine Programmgröße sicher.
Durch Optimierung von möglichst vielen Routinen, ohne dadurch die Benutzerfreundlichkeit zu verlieren, versucht Notepad++ den Ausstoß von Kohlenstoffdioxid zu reduzieren.
Durch Nutzung von weniger Prozessorleistung braucht der PC weniger Energie und wir haben eine grünere Umwelt.

Dieses Projekt ist sehr ausgereift, dies schließt aber nicht das Vorhandensein von Fehler aus.
Auch wird weiterhin an neuen Funktionen gearbeitet. Wenn Sie Fragen oder Vorschläge für uns haben, dann nutzen Sie die Foren um uns diese mitzuteilen. Anfragen nach neuen Funktionen sollten ebenfalls im Forum gestellt werden. Es gibt allerdings keine Garantie, dass ich die Anfragen umsetzen werde.
