Netia to build on strong year in Middle East
by John Parnell on Mar 4, 2010

Content management system developer Netia is looking to build on its strong performance in the region last year with a series of new customer wins on the horizon, according to Netia president and CEO Christophe Carniel.

“Twenty percent of our turnover last year came from the Middle East and that figure is growing,” said Carniel.

“There are a lot of archiving projects in this region. There have been several questions from potential clients regarding the transfer of archives to a digital format and then of course the media asset management systems that are required to leverage those.

“More recently we have had a lot requests about how we can help broadcasters to leverage these archives across several platforms including mobile. This is a growth sector for us.”

The company has completed several projects in the region since last year’s CABSAT in Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Morroco and is in talks about potential new projects in Oman .
