This is what I could determine:

Features added:

Channel info bar seen when changing channels and when pressing "INFO" the first time now includes a progress bar for EPG data loading on the current channel.

Pressing "INFO" twice now brings up an enhanced EPG for the current channel with times, titles and program descriptions, as well as video, audio, and PCR PIDS and SID.

A third press of the "INFO" button gives the usual Channel, Satellite, Transponder, PID, Signal Intensity and Signal Quality indicators.

The CA Slot Setting menu now includes a selection to "Edit BOXID".

Go to Menu->Tools->Dump By USB->Start and select everything for the Dump Image then press yellow button. This will back up your current settings and channel list into a file called HDS2_DUMP.abs that you can reload in case you want to go back to what you are running currently.

Next you can change the Dump Mode to Misc Files and select everything under Dump Misc Files. This dumps everything except settings (which may have changes from the last firmware version).

Then you go back to the Tools menu and select Upgrade By USB. Choose the new firmware file; load it; and flash.

After rebooting, go to the Upgrade By USB menu and change Upgrade Mode to Misc Files. Choose Start and select all Add Files To Upgrade then press yellow button. When complete, press power button once to turn off receiver and then again to reboot. You will now have to redo your settings in System Setup.

Enjoy!

Here's the latest firmware (1008311815) with channel favorites, if you are lucky they will keep their names.

Favorites are:
Entertainment
Movies
HD Channels
Factual
Kids
Music
Sports

Forgot to say this is for 28.2e

Every channel with AAC audio that I've seen works well with this receiver. Even the radio channels.

yes ac3 works well but AAC doesn't unfortunately but here all most all leading providers using only AAC for the audio ..so still i m very much unlucky with this box for such providers! al capone

As far as I know I don't have any channels that use AAC so I can't test it
