Amino calls record revenues, adds Dolce contract

Cambridge-based set-top developer Amino Technologies has reported record revenues for the half-year ending May 31, 2010. However, despite the unit sales booked in the period, the combination of higher component prices and movements on the foreign exchange markets have kept the company at a loss, though it expects this to be a significant reduction on the FY 2009 loss of £3.1 million.

In its half year trading update, Amino said it expects to report a ‘mark to market’ loss of approximately £0.5m on the remaining foreign exchange contracts.

North America continues to show steady growth and the company says it has been encouraged by increased demand from Eastern Europe. This includes a new contract with Rom Telecom, announced today, which will be deployed under the Dolce Interactiv brand.

Amino will provide Romtelecom with Mood400 single stream personal video recording (PVR) STBs, which deliver a range of advanced functionality including advanced PVR, VOD, in-home media sharing, instant messaging (IM), and other TV-centric entertainment, communication and information applications.
