FOX's 2010-2011 slate,
« on: May 18, 2010, 06:39:50 PM »

FOX's 2010-2011 slate, unveiled this morning, includes three new dramas—among them Steven Spielberg's Terra Nova—and a new Tuesday night comedy block that features Lionsgate's Running Wilde.

House settles into the 8 p.m. Monday night slot in the fall, leading into the new series Lonestar at 9 p.m, set against the sprawling backdrop of big Texas oil.

Glee, returning for a sophomore season, anchors the Tuesday night comedy block at 8 p.m. and serves as the launching pad for two new half-hour comedies: Raising Hope, from My Name is Earl's Greg Garcia, and Running Wilde, produced by Lionsgate in association with Tantamount Studios, Will Arnett and Principato-Young. In the spring, Glee moves to Wednesday following American Idol. The hit show will also take the plum post-Super Bowl slot on February 6.

FOX has renewed Lie to Me for a Wednesday 8 p.m. slot, ahead of the returning reality competition Hell's Kitchen at 9 p.m. Thursdays are intact with the combination of the returning Bones and Fringe.

Human Target moves to Fridays at 8 p.m. and is being paired with The Good Guys, which premieres on the network this week. Cops continues to lead Saturday prime time, together with America's Most Wanted. And Sunday nights are still filled with prime-time animation: The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, Family Guy and American Dad. Adding to this lineup in the spring will be the comedy Bob's Burgers.

Ordered for midseason is the family adventure series Terra Nova from exec producers Steven Spielberg, Peter Chernin, Brannon Braga and David Fury. The series follows an ordinary family on a journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a part of a massive expedition to save the human race. FOX has also announced a pickup of Shawn Ryan's new crime series Ride-Along, as well as the relationship comedy Mixed Signals.

Announcing the schedule, Peter Rice, chairman of entertainment at Fox Networks Group, said: “FOX has been the No. 1 network for six consecutive seasons not only because our programs are hits, but also because they’re the most engaging shows on television. We’re very excited to add a full slate of creative, original new series next season that will help us continue to capture imaginations and draw people back to FOX week after week.â€

Kevin Reilly, president of entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company, added: “Last season, we did what FOX does best: we took some risks that paid off. Now we’re going to up the ante with an even more diverse and creative roster of programs for next year. With three daring new dramas, a fresh new animated series and three new live-action comedies, we’re positioned to rebuild the FOX comedy brand, introduce the next generation of unique characters and deliver an even more compelling experience for our viewers next season."
