Cooking Channel Puts Familiar Faces On Menu
Shows Featuring Ray, Flay, Emeril Among Shows Scripps Service Is Heating Up

With its launch set for May 31, Cooking Channel is preparing a programming menu with some familiar faces from companion service Food Network.
Cooking Channel, succeeding Scripps Networks Interactive service Fine Living, will serve up new food fare featuring Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse. Cooking Channel general manager Michael Smith said the network will also present talent from Australia, Canada and England to stir new shows Stateside.

Rachael RayAccording to Smith, the network will explore food and cooking from a different level, offering details and depth on a range of topics -- viewers will follow food geeks as they invent outrageous solutions to their culinary cravings; learn the secrets behind their favorite foods; visit extreme restaurants around the globe; and meet a new generation of up-and-coming chefs.

"Cooking Channel is the new destination for today's food lover," said Smith in a statement. "The goal is to satisfy their craving for more information, rich experiences, tantalizing ideas, and a total immersion into the world of cooking and eating through this lineup of inspiring, entertaining and informational shows."


Currently, Cooking Channel is in various stages of production on:
*Rachael Ray's Week in a Day (working title) in which she shows viewers how to plan/cook a week's worth of meals in one day;
*Bobby Flay's Brunch (working title) will see the renowned chef dish out recipes and tips;
*Emeril's Fresh Food Fast (working title) features the Nawlins veteran showing viewers how they can quickly prepare fresh food, without dicing taste;

*Chuck's Day Off explores Chuck Hughes' reality of running a restaurant and cooking for his friends, family and staff;
*Chinese Food Made Easy features food entrepreneur Ching-He Huang shattering the myth that this genre food is complicated;
*Everyday Exotic examines chef and award-winning musician Roger Mooking exploring and incorporating exotic ingredients into everyday cooking;

*David Rocco's Dolce Vita highlights his immersion into the charm and beauty of Tuscan life;
* French Food At Home is hosted by cookbook author Laura Calder, who invites watchers to celebrate the Gallic nation's lifestyle around food;
*Rachel Allen: Bake provides step-by-step entry into the modern world of sumptuous, decadent treats.
