February 23, 2010

Share Latvian telco Lattelecom is expanding its existing installation of a Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring solution for its IPTV service 'Interactive TV' from Swedish firm Agama Technologies.

Under the agreement, Lattelecom will extend its existing solution to include embedded set-top box monitoring, enabling the telco to monitor the service all the way to end-customers. The company deployed an Agama monitoring solution in 2007 to assure the IPTV service quality in their headend and distribution network.

"Since the introduction of Agama monitoring in our network we are able to easily pinpoint the root cause of problems in our deployment and improve the overall quality of our service offering," said Girts Berzins, Technology Director at Lattelecom. "Agama's Embedded Monitoring Solution will serve as a valuable tool and resource for information for our entire organisation, and it will support us in reaching new heights in our proactive work with customer satisfaction."

Lattelecom is currently thought to have around 45,000 subscribers for its IPTV service.
