Platform n sale rumours dismissed

Poland’s ITI Group has strongly denied that or some of its interests, which include the DTH platform n, are up for sale.

A report in Puls Biznesu earlier this week said the market is awash with rumours that the Group plans to dispose of such assets as Onet and n, with the Canal Plus Cyfrowy the operator of Cyfra+, apparently interested in the latter.

TVN could also be sold, with Time Warner, CME and the Russian private equity fund Renaissance possible buyers.

However, quoted in Wirtualne Media, TVN president Markus Tellenbach called the speculation “absolute fantasy”.

Wojciech Kostrzewa, the DG of ITI Group, also dismissed it out of hand.

Platform n is the third largest DTH platform in Poland in terms of subscriber numbers after Cyfrowy Polsat and Cyfra+.

It has a sister service named Telewizja na karte (TNK) which viewers can receive on a pre-pay basis.
