Singaporean cable operator StarHub is attempting to shore up sports subscriptions before it loses broadcast rights to the English Premier League later this year to rival Mio. On Friday, StarHub launched a new free 24-hour sports channel, SuperSports Arena, available to all its customers.

The new channel offers local and international sports, including live soccer from Singapore’s S.League, Spain’s La Liga and Germany’s Bundesliga. Other sports include Six Nations rugby, tennis and hockey including the ATP World Tour 250 series and International Hockey Federation events, as well as wrestling shows WWE Raw and ECW.

StarHub has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) to collaborate on selected local sports events production.
