UK terrestrial Five has appointed two new commissioning executives, luring over the Bafta-nominated producer of Ross Kemp in Afghanistan to be its new commissioning editor for factual.

In his new role, Matt Bennett will report to head of factual Andrew O'Connell when he arrives from Tiger Aspect Productions later this month. He "will be building on our established factual brands such as Revealed and Extraordinary People as well as spotting the next big things in the genre," explained Five channel controller Richard Woolfe.

The other newcomer to Five's team is Greg Barnett, who has been lured over from Twofour Broadcast to take up the role of commissioning executive for daytime and soaps. He "will be exploiting the great opportunities our daytime schedule presents and will also be supporting Donna Taberer, our head of entertainment," added Woolfe.

Barnett's credits include Noel's Christmas Presents and Are You Smarter Than a 10 Year Old? for Sky1 and Soapstar Superstar for the BBC. Bennett's other credits include Ross Kemp on Gangs and BBC1's Trawlermen.
