VU+ Image BackUp Tools
Backup tool for Vuplus NFI images including USB Support

Hi,

I once (worked on numerous requests received from forum members) for the purpose of progression for the duo Vuplus that NFI now a backup is possible, similar to a Dreambox.
It is one part NFI supports a backup and the other a USB backup and restore on a different box.

The backup tool is composed of a shell script and a binary that works on every Vuplus Duo, so that a complete backup of the relevant areas of Flash can be created.

Both the backup in the form of IFN-file for direct flashing with VuUtil as well as the three known files including the folder structure needed for USB Flashing variant generated automatically. The restore of a so-called backup image is the same as a normal image, so I can save myself at this point, a description, because I assume that everyone should get along with them.

The attached two files are simply copied to "/ usr / bin" (build-nfi-image and build vuplus.sh image). The best way this is done via FTP client. Especially since you can set several FTP clients to immediately file permissions to 755. Alternatively, the shell a "chmod 755 / usr / bin / build-nfi-image-vuplus.sh" and "chmod 755 build image" will be deposited. The remaining files in the RAR archive for VTI images without relevance.

The backup script can now be starting to enter "build-nfi-image-vuplus.sh Destination Folder" started directly in the shell.

Example: build-nfi-image-vuplus.sh / media / hdd / backup

The script should preferably not be terminated prematurely. The script will automatically exit when the backup of your box has been made.
As always, you should have enough free space for the backup image have, therefore, in the extreme case, a maximum of 128 MB, which corresponds to the size of internal flash memory.

Otherwise, no additional requirements are necessary.

One would hint at VTI with the next release is also an integration of my NFI backup tools, which then directly on the VTI-panel and thus the remote control can be called.

Replacement Script for VuPlus NFI-Backup Plugin v0.1

Ich gehe davon aus das jeder der das PLi benutzt auch das VuPlus NFI-Backup
Plugin installiert hat. Das ist Pflicht

Installation:
Einfach das File "backup.sh" aus dem Archiv nach

/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/VuPlus-NFI-Backup/

kopieren. Dort befindet sich schon eine "backup.sh".
Einfach die schon vorhandene ueberschreiben. Rechte auf 755.
Die Arbeitsweise des Plugins bleibt durch den Austausch vollstÃ¤ndig erhalten!

Der Unterschied:
Wenn ihr vor der Ausfuehrung des Plugins einen fat32 formatierten Stick ansteckt
auf dem sich eine Datei namens "vubackupstick" befindet, dann wird das Backup
zusaetzlich auf den USB-Stick kopiert.
Ihr koennt dazu die Datei "vubackupstick" aus dem Archiv auf eueren USB-Stick kopieren.
Dann ist der Stick so prepariert das er als Backup-Stick erkannt wird.
Alternativ kann man auch per Telnet diese Datei erzeugen mit:

touch //vubackupstick

Wenn ihr noch andere USB-Sticks an der VU stecken habt, z.B. fuer Picons,
dann koennt ihr die anderen Sticks unbesorgt waehrend des Backupvorgangs stecken lassen.
Mit anderen Worten:
Einfach den preparierten Stick anstecken und das Plugin ausfuehren. Anschliessend
habt ihr ein Komplett-Backup auf dem Stick das ihr jederzeit flashen koennt.

Remember:
All flashing action at yout own risk!
Jegliches flashen der VU auf eigene Gefahr!

As of now there is only the "Backup Suite", in this IPK are 2 plugins included, namely The first NFI plugin is a version in a backup:
NFI format, which can be put back VuUtil.exe, is placed in the root of the HD of the VU-image-file backup vuplus- _ . NFI so bv backup image-vuplus-20101018_173645.nfi
USB format that is placed in the folder on the HD vuplus and, if there is a valid USB device is inserted, it also copies to USB. It could set back as usual by the USB into the front USB port and place VU while and to turn the switch on the back of the VU Duo.
