2. How to Config Black Hole VU+ HD
« on: July 18, 2011, 12:10:48 AM »
We have the first configuration, we will walk around the various menus, and finish setting up the computer.

Menu -> BlackHole Personal Backup

Backup is the menu of your computer is a new option added by the BlackHole, I'm glad to see this new option, many users were clamoring for years.

Congratulations BH, great job. :icoan11:

When we first entered and we have no backup made, we will see shows the message: Personal Backup: Not Found

Let us set where we want to do the backups, press Yellow

If we installed a HDD can perform backups there, if you're using USB, you have to change the option.

Now you can do the backup, press Red.

Then you will see how it begins.

we have already made a backup of all

We leave and enter the following menu: Backup EGP BlackHole

This like the previous option helps us to make a backup but the EGP, just activate it

Press Green: Setup

Backup Enables and configures the device where you saved

Next Menu: Media Player

This is Media Player VU +, I will not explain anything because it is very simple, if you have internal HDD or USB, comes into the device and load any video file on the left is a list of devices and on the right the playlist, you go amedida adding multimedia files will be appearing on the right with the arrow keys on the remote you can navigate the playlist.

Also if you press Menu on the remote really new options in the playlist, and while you're playing any multimedia file.

Next Menu  DVD.

As we know the VU + has no internal DVD, if you want you can add an external eSATA or USB, in my case I do not need the DVD player Multimedia player like the DVD allows you to open your own format.

You can Rip DVD and put it in a Pendrive From this menu you can run it as if it were a DVD player, it is useful to view VOB files

Anyway, as I said before, if you can connect a DVD-R external, that will let you rip, play DVDs in their original format or recordings with some plugin.

Right now is not to say long ago that do not play with this, but some time ago about drivers were used and plugins that are still available to use all these options. Just install them from Addons.

The following menu is: Timer - Recordings

This is the general programming menu of recordings on your computer, but you also have quick options from the list of channels to add these scheduled recordings.

If you want to add an event, click Green

Menu: Plugins

Have several pre-installed, but you can install many of them there of all ki$$$.

This changes some version ago, and really do not quite understand why there is a button for direct access to menu Addons

If you want to install some plugin more, you'll have to leave the menus and press green -> yellow -> Addons Download Manager -> Black Hole Image Plugins
[/ B]
I think we need a button like I said, we do not have to leave and then enter. :ji!:

Extra Settings: Do not be alarmed :spiteful: this is already one of the last menus that I will explain, there are others but you will have to find you on the road :whistle3:

Menu: Bkack Hole Cron Manager

  • The Cron Manager is a utility for Linux, works with the CPU clock, allowing us to perform actions in the form of SSH comma$$$ or script can be very useful if you want your VU + reboot every day automatically, or restart the EMU / CardReader from minutes, hours, days, weeks, months ... etc

Menu: Devices Manager

  • This is useful for assembling, formatting external drives, if you connect a USB HDD or pendrive

As we see in the picture, I have connected two external USB devices, a 32GB pendrive memory card and a 1GB CF

To use the 32GB PenDrive first thing I have to do is mount it, but there are two options:

  • If you use the USB device in Windows have to assemble it by pressing Red
  • If the USB device you want to use whenever you use Linux or Linux on your PC, you can format it first, then mount it: yellow
Press: Red

Now that we have to be the mount point, I set the USB 32GB, while a USB HDD mount as we can, it would be no problem

As we see in the image is so: /media/hdd

Now configure the 1GB CF memory card as: / media / cf

Save the settings: Rojo

we say that yes, restart the machine for the changes to take effect

Now we have two external USB devices mounted, and can access them from the FTP: / media /

We can also use them from Multimedia and watch movies or listen to music.

Another possibility would be to put the EMUS / CardReaders / Picons ... etc.

Menu: Kernel Modules

  • NTFS For Windows FileSystems Compatibility
  • SmarGo & Other USB Card Readers Chipset Ftdi
  • Other USB Card Readers Chipset PL2303
  • Tun Module Needed For OpenVPN
  • ExportFS Module Needed For NFS-Server
  • NFSD Module Needed For NFS-Server

Menu: Inadyn Settings

  • With this option you can keep your account Dyns - NOIP is responsible for day to keep your IP.

Menu: Swap File Settings

Menu: Hard Disk Settings

  • Right now I have not connected the internal HDD, but from this menu you can view the free and occupied, you can change the time it takes to stay in Standby HDD, format it in Linux EXT2 format.

Menu: Black Hole Mount Wizard

  • This is the mounting system of units, a setup wizard is easy and comfortable, we saw elsewhere in the manual. If you have a computer connected to the network, can share their hard drives to be accessed remotely over the network from the VU +, this is very useful if you want to watch movies, do not have the goals in a flash drive, directly you can see from the VU + using HDD of your PC. In following manuals we will see about this subject, complete with examples. Anyway you can follow the wizard, it's simple really, the most difficult is to tell the W7 to share a HDD: 444586:
  • Another important question mount network drives, is allowing us to read and write at the same time, if you do not have internal HDD, for example, a VU + Solo, you can use this option to make your recordings, works to perfection.

Menu: OpenVPN Panel

Menu: Samba

Menu: NFS Server Panel

Menu: Telnet

  • Telnet server and send comma$$$ to enter SSH must be activated normally

Menu: FTP Panel

  • FTP server to send / receive files, you usually have to be activated

Menu: USB Tuner Panel

  • From this menu you can install a USB DVB TCS, BH boys have done a great job adapting the vast majority of drivers for the USB DVB, are usually used DVB-T, but now also have left the DVB-C DVB-T. You can add more tuner, USB free as many as you have, no matter how different or the same, the new images and allow all these options.
  • [/ LIST]

As an example we install a USB AverMedia DVB-T Volar Black HD, cost me 15 euros for 1 year, now have many models, some of them are dual tuner, with only a USB tuner suddenly add two.

First thing you do is install the right driver for our model, as I said before is an AverMedia Volar Black HD

Press Red [/ B]

One USB Stick Mono-Tuner: USB drivers for a single tuner DVB

One Dual-Tuner USB Stick: Drivers for USB DVB dual tuner

Same Two Sticks USB Model: Drivers for USB DVB connect 2 of the same model

Two Different Models USB Sticks: to connect 2 USB Drivers DVB different model

As we have all the possibilities, in my case is only one tuner, I go into the folder: One USB Stick Mono-Tuner

Now it's easy, my AverMedia Volar Black HD model is the first

press: OK

When you finish installing the drivers, asking us to do a GUI restart, then re-enter the menu: Blue -> Blue -> USB Tuner Panel [/ B]

USB DVB activated by pressing the Green [/ B]

Now if we are to see the configuration of the new antenna tuner ready to work.

Menu: UPnP Cliente DJMount

  • Unknown to me

Menu: UPnP Server MediaTomb

Well, I have been a little more main menus and used the Black Hole Enigma2, as we have seen work and fun ahead.

In future updates will add more information .
