I am new to the Dreambox world and I just recently acquired a DM800 HD PVR satelitte box, coming from a cable d-box and starview 7 previously.
All was working fine for a short period and then all of a sudden I was unable to access some of the premium channels and I was receiving an error 'cannot parse the emu' on my openpli image that was used.
After trying numerous things, I restore to factory settings. I decided to try a new image. A newer image from OpenPLI but was unable to load the firmware successfully. When I accessed the image using the web browser, I loaded the firmware but received a message when attempted to load this image ''invalid image (or old version)' and I tried this with a few images but to no avail.
In the end I decided to try a generic dreambox image (to see if i could load a general image) but I think this was a mistake as its a clone box, I didnt get the invalid error anymore but once it has loaded and the box rebooted I then received a error on the box erro01 no CA found 1/2 seco$$$ after the box boots up.
I have a Null serial cable and cross over ethernet cable and have tryed patched and non patched dreamup, Dreambox Optiflasher V2, NCE SIM 2.5 but to no avail. I can see the serial connection is being picked up but not sure if there is an issue with the ethernet connection.
In the tools I have tried to configure my laptop and dreambox on their own network by giving my laptop a static IP address but stil unable to communicate to the box. I am sure my image had a sim2 image loaded when it was working and not a ferrari image as mentioned on other forums.
Does anyone know what else I could try, could it be the Null RS232 cable I am using which I brought from ebay, is it because I am using a Mac book pro with Windows 7 installed via bootcamp, some say its better to use a PC. I could use but haven't tried as I did have a dell laptop and used that without any luck either, that was also on Windows 7.
Any thoughts on this I would greatly appreciate it. I have literally exhaused all options.
