Question about Softcam and DM 500-S
« on: June 05, 2010, 09:45:58 PM »
I'm new at all this - been reading forums for weeks and trying various images cams etc etc, but cannot get anything but the free channels.

As far as I can tell I should be able to get all channels using MGcamd and the latest sat keys added to the SoftCam.keys file, but trying that and a thousand other things results in nothing.

I'm trying to get channels on Amazonas 1 (I'm in Uruguay) - for educational purposes only.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried with Darkstar with no luck and am currently using Gemini 4.7. The Dreambox DM 500-s afaik (MAC address) is a genuine one.

Also is there a log file generated somewhere that one can use to see if channels are being decsrambled or not - to see if things are being setup ok?

Thanks in advance,

Henry.

Great - I'll try that.

Just before I start, to confirm I'm using the right ccam - MGcamd - is that all I need ? I download/install that. Do I also need to download and install the MGcamd Config also (from gemini plugins menu) ? No other plugins necessary?

Thanks...

Here's what I've done:

. Fresh 4.7 gemini flash (Gemini_470_Ara_drhg_NO-bomb)
. scan transponders on Amazonas 1 - all channels found ok
. downloaded and installed CCcam 2.1.4 complete
. downloaded and installed CCcam-Config 19.07.2009
. set cam to CCcam 2.1.4 (not the NewCS or with OScam options)
. reboot

Nothing shows up in Filezilla in the keys directory at this point except an empty "nagra_roms" directory. That's why I was trying other cams.

After that I downloaded the latest SoftCam.keys file (all update 050610) and replaced the keys using the ones you quoted and uploaded it to the keys directory, and rebooted, but still nothing alas.

put keys in folder VAR/KEYS softcam.autoroll & constant cw..nagra_roms" directory is empty..Do not open that folder, but put next to it

1. Extract the keys of your choices to a folder

2. Start DCC295 and click on the FTP tab.

4. In the right hand window off DCC navigate to where you extracted your Dreambox keys go in one level so you can see the keys and scce folders and in the left hand window navigate to var/keys.

5. In the right hand window enter the keys folder and select them all. Now press the Transfer arrow to transfer the files over to var/keys in the right hand window.

7. Now reboot your Dreambox Menu-shutdown-reboot now.
Job done

Done all that with no luck.

There's some confusion with what keys exactly I should be uploading. I've tried all (with reboots) with no luck in any event:

1) latest softcam - 1 file only
2) antr@g: CCcam_Softcamkey_Up1_05.06 - various files
3) antr@g: Dreambox_key_ANTR@G_Up1_05.06

Using CCcam 2.1.4.

I tried with DCC 2.96 not 2.95 - presume that's ok, and presume using FileZilla is ok too.

Thanks again for the help - great to have it.

I got this output from telnet - this time on DarkStar II:

Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
/var/log > cd /var/bin
/var/bin > ls

Then I killed all CCcam processes - here's the ones that were left:

Done all that - still no results. Some differences below though for different channels. I wonder if the keys are ok? I'm using the latest as instructed - the ones above (which are the same as in the rar file). The /var/etc/CCcam.cfg just contains the 3 lines mentioned.

I've also tried ccamd3 (and others) with the latest keys and no luck also.

Just met a mate here who has an AZ-America box and he had to update on May 28th 2010, so it looks like the keys are out of date.

Searching the net I've only found the April 2010 keys.

I wonder if there's anyway of extracting the keys from the .abs files they use to do their updates ? I've looked around but can't find any info. Or any other suggestions about how to get the new keys?

Cheers...

hi henryh
ive just had what i think is the same problem using jade3 on a dm500s what i had to do was
press blue button
scroll down to software management press enter
downloads press enter
scroll down to softcams/cardservers press enter
scroll to cccam config (2 1 4) press enter
let it delete then reinstall config file
exit back to normal screen
not sure if the next bit was needed but i then rebooted the dm
thats it
hope you get sorted soon nush *31*
