ITV Studios and Eyeworks International

Are hooking up to produce a Dutch version of UK terrestrial ITV1's Popstar to Operastar, the first time the format will be produced internationally.

The two companies will coproduce a localised primetime version, and Dutch broadcaster TROS is already understood to be interested.

The UK version recently featured on local Dutch news programme De Wereld Draait Door and created a "huge buzz" with the audience, Eyeworks International's director Sander Emmering claimed.

The format sees pop stars trying their hand at opera, performing famous songs in front of a studio audience and panel of judges. It was created in the UK by ITV Studios, Renegade Pictures and Globe/Universal.

In related news, ITV Studios and its subsidiary Shiver are producing a 5x60' series to celebrate the long-running UK entertainment show An Audience With… The show, 30 Years of An Audience With, will air in primetime later this year.

It will feature footage from some of the most memorable moments of the series, including performances from The Bee Gees, Take That and Shirley Bassey, as well as interviews with producers and stars, and behind-the-scenes footage.

The series is being executive produced by Mark Robinson and Sumi Connock, produced by Vicky Thomas and was commissioned by ITV's controller of entertainment John Kaye Cooper.

The An Audience With… brand has previously been distributed to a variety of networks in countries such as Canada, Borneo, Australia and Uzbekistan.
