Network Broadcast grows with all DVB variants in South America

The Argentine DVB integrator Network Broadcast (NB) has managed to expand all across South American countries both with free-to-air DVB-T systems (Colombia) and with Pay-TV UHF variants (Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay), MMDS (Argentina, Uruguay), cable (Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, and Venezuela) and DTH (Chile, Bolivia). The president of the company, Alejandro Cubino, is evaluating new projects in Ecuador and Peru, and forecasts a DTH systems' boom in the region.

After its recent arrival in Brazil, NB has already become RCA TV's cable MSO provider, and has also managed to provide Cablemágico (Telefónica) with STBs in Peru. At present, NB is not integrating Sandmartin's STBS, but is preparing its own STB production in Brazil. Likewise, the company managed to step in Venezuela, with the cable TV Zamora (Pto. Ordaz). In Argentina, NB adds more than five UHF operations, another one in Paraguay (TVD Chaco), and a dozen cable operations in Argentina and Uruguay where its main base is located.

However, the South American company Tuves' integral DTH platform development, based in Chile, places them in one of the most dynamic segments of the market. Colombia bided a new public free-to-air DTH platform, Argentina is planning its own, as Venezuela, Ecuador and Panama, and other countries might follow the same steps. "DTH concept has changed", stated Cubino, when talking about the different DTH systems that might be public or paid by just administering the user's CAS card.
