According to him, and from what I've read on the matter, there's way too much of the N3 code that's still based on alot of the N1 & N2 encrypting. With that mindset, N3 will also fail, according to his knowledge of cards and what he found out about N3 so far. This is NOT a recent statement, nor can I vouch for it's authenticity. When he said this, it hit the web in a flurry, so I'm assuming it came from him...but it could all be a lie.
I do know that the underground folks are, and have been, talking about his for a long time. When all switched to N3, I discussed someone who was watching wide-open with a rom 241 on MSN with a friend. We both knew this guy and he's been making it no secret that he's got muchas viewable television (publicly). If it weren't publicly spoken by him, I would not divulge that, but I know for a fact. It isn't some "I saw this but don't know how it works," like the numerous claims to a P4, or some set-up by JJG in LA that'll program your card for $500 every 6 months. Play it by ear and see what happens. With the future of TV moving away from satellite in larger, more populated cities, Charlie and others are going to be struggling to keep the suburban folks happy when the prices are sky-high and they don't have anything worth watching on anyway...I think major changes are in store for the future of TV, but I could be dead wrong there too.
