Lithuanian telco INIT has become the first operator in the country to deploy the DOCSIS 3.0 broadband technology.Solutions provider Vector, which chose the Arris C4Ž cable modem controller, put the fast data transmission system forward. Vector says the device is both highly efficient and reliable. “The solution allows for flexible development in the future,” explained Vitautas Valutis, the Director of the INIT IT Department. “The advantage of the device is that it brings with it a broad package of configuration options and the possibility of the quality control for offered services”. Valutis added that he expects to be able to offer INIT subscribers speeds of up to 120 Mbps.

INIT has been present in Lithuania since 1990 and offers subscribers cable TV, internet access and VoIP telephone. It chose Vector because of the company’s earlier deployments in the Polish market.
