New telecommunications satellite Eutelsat W7 started commercial operation at the orbital position 36 degrees East, where already working space devices SESAT and Eutelsat Eutelsat W4. Position 36 ° E has the significant reinforcements, which will help significantly expand the number of transferred services.

Eutelsat W7 began operations 7/1/2010. The first started using it to pay-TV Multichoice in sub-Saharan Africa beam on the frequency 11.747 GHz, pol H SR 27500 FEC 3 / 4, DVB-S. Receive transponder but it is not possible in Europe - is regionally limited to the part of the African continent.

The following week (since 11.1.2010) there will be a shift of services from older satellites Eutelsat Eutelsat SESAT the new W7. After completion of the transfer program will be moving to another SESAT Eutelsat orbital position.

From 15/1/2010 to operate on the Russian bond Eutelsat W7, which will help significantly expand transponder capacity for Russian and Ukrainian market. W7 will complement the existing satellite Eutelsat W4.

EW7 has a total of 5 volumes, of which 2 to 3 will cover the region of Central Europe. In addition to new programs and Poverkhnost Plus NTV Plus satellite will distribute programs at Georgia and channels from other CIS countries.
