17.3 million streams for ORF TVthek

Austrian public broadcaster ORF’s catch-up TV service has reached 17.4 million requested streams during its first 100 days of operation.
The online video portal ORF TVthek was launched on November 16, 2009. It offers about 70 on-demand programmes from the pubcaster, as well as streaming video for some live programmes.
The best month so far was January, with 5.3 million requested streams. The most requested programme was an interview with Natascha Kampusch, the girl who escaped from her kidnapper after an eight-year ordeal.
Most of the programming offered on the ORF TVthek is also available to viewers outside of the country.
