EyeTV streams DTT to home network

German manufacturer Elgato comes with a new product, the EyeTV Netstream DTT, which streams local DVB-T broadcasts across the wireless home network. With two built-in tuners, people can watch or record two different channels on two computers.
The EyeTV Netstream DTT supports Bonjour (for Mac) and UPnP (for PCs). The device comes with EyeTV 3, Elgato’s Mac TV software. It also works with Windows 7 Media Center and ships with TerraTec Home Cinema (THC) software for Windows.
The receiver cabn be located anywhere in the house where there is a convenient antenna outlet or sufficient signal strength for the included telescopic antenna. Then it can be connected to the network router/switch for streaming the live signal to the computers in the house. With a Wi-Fi network people can watch TV wirelessly on a portable computer, free from cables.
EyeTV Netstream DTT requires a Macintosh Computer with an Intel Core CPU and Mac OS X v10.5.8 or newer. On PCs or Netbooks EyeTV Netstream DTT requires Windows 7 and 2.0 GHz Intel/AMD CPU or Intel Atom CPU. Network bandwidth must be high enough to allow for streaming of television signals (100Base-T Ethernet, 802.11n for wireless).
The device sells for EUR 249.95.
