New digital TV journal launched
December 21st, 2009 - 12:37 UTC
by Andy Sennitt.

A new journal which aims to bring together academics, broadcasters and policy-makers, and share experiences about the analogue to digital transition internationally, has been launched. Called the International Journal of Digital Television, the publication contains national case studies of digital switchovers, and comparative analyses of experiences in different countries.

The journal is published by Intellect Journals and edited by Michael Stark of Oxford University, UK; Jeffrey Hart of Indiana University, USA; and Jock Given of Swinburne University, Australia.

Principal editor Michael Stark said the journal aims to describe and explain the transition to digital TV and wider trends in television, as switchover happens across the globe. The content would then evolve as the focus shifts from switching off analogue TV to the challenge of exploiting digital television’s convergence with the Internet and telecommunications.
