Paris Première, RTL9 and TV Breizh topped the audience share list for French thematic channels distributed only via cable, satellite and IPTV between August 30 and February 13, according to the latest figures published by Mediamétrie.

Each of the top three channels took an average share of 0.7% for the period, followed by Teva and Canal Plus Family (each with 0.6%), and Canal Plus Décalé, Disney Channel, Eurosport and 13ème Rue Universal (each with 0.5%).

Of the main national channels, TF1 took a 23.6% share in homes that receive more than the basic digital-terrestrial channel line-up (down to 22.1% in CanalSat and cable homes), while M6 took a 10.5% share (9.1% in CanalSat and cable homes). Canal Plus channels took a cumulative 7.1% share, while free-to-air digital channels W9 and TMC took 2.8% and 2.7% respectively.

According to Mediamétrie’s Mediamat’Thématik survey, just over 16.8 million people take a pay TV service in France, of which about 12.3 million subscribe to CanalSat and 4.6 million take a cable offer.
