DBOX II Boot-Manager

Die All-In-One Lösung um mit MS-Windows 95/98/ME bzw. WinNT 4.0, Windows 2000 und Windows XP die DBOXII zu starten.
Außerdem gibt's ein paar Tipps, was Ihr sonst noch tun müsst, um die DBox II mit Linux zum Laufen zu kriegen.

Ich rate Euch, mit dem Kurzschließen (also Debug-Mode enablen) SEHR VORSICHTIG zu sein!
Die Wahrscheinlichkeit das Original-Betriebssystem eurer DBox II zu zerstören, und sie nur mehr durch NICHT offiziell erhältliche Dateien wiederbeleben zu können, ist SEHR GROSS! Deshalb rate ich Euch, schließt die DBox II nur dann kurz, wenn Ihr auch bereit seid, mit einer gekillten BR-Software zu leben (also Linux drauftun zu müssen).
Außerdem sollte ihr euch Gedanken machen, woher ihr diese im Fall des Falles notwendigen Dateien bekommt (nicht von mir und auch nicht aus dem Forum)! Das immer wieder erwähnte minflsh.tar.gz enthält Dateien, die © BetaResearch sind, daher fällt das Herunterladen wohl in den Bereich "Raubkopien".

10/100MBit-Kombi Netzwerkkarten und 10/100MBit-Kombi Switches/Hubs machen Probleme!
Diese Kombi-Sachen brauchen zu lange, um zu erkennen, dass sie es mit einer 10MBit-DBox zu tun haben. Deswegen verschlucken sie den BootP-Request, und nichts mehr funktioniert! Also spart Euch (und mir) Zeit, und probiert es gleich mit einer "alten" Netzwerkkarte aus, falls nix geht (und lest das Readme)!
Diese 10/100MBit Probleme verursachen auch teilweise Meldungen wie "RARP Request ignored" usw!
Schaut ins Forum, dort sind jede Menge dieser Probleme beschrieben.

Es ist ausdrücklich verboten, mit dem DBox II Boot-Manager modifizierte oder gepatchte Versionen der Linux oder BR-Software aufzuspielen oder zu starten, welche das Dekodieren von nicht bezahlten PayTV Angeboten ermöglichen!
Des weiteren distanziere ich mich AUSDRÜCKLICH von all diesen (fragwürdigen) Aktivitäten. Ob das nun eine rechtliche Relevanz hat oder nicht, es soll euch (hallo BR - leider gibts euch ja so gut wie nicht mehr ) auf jeden Fall zeigen, dass ich damit NICHTS zu tun haben will. Dieses Tool (wie auch die ganze andere Software) soll dazu dienen, eine Alternative zur BR-Software zur Verfügung zu haben, nicht PayTV zu hacken!

* NT 4.0 sollte wieder laufen
* Flash auslesen geht auch wieder
* ppcboot für Flashen und Flash-Auslesen in die Distribution gepackt
* Wenn ein alexW-Image geflasht wird, dann wird die IP automatisch richtig gesetzt
* Bug im NFS-Server behoben, betrifft "nicht gefundene" Dateien (Verzeichnisse mit mehr als 30 Dateien)
* "ListIndex out of Bounds"-Fehler behoben

* Win2K und WinXP haben ein Problem wenn die Box nur mit einem Cross-Kabel angeschlossen ist.
Dazu gibt es einen Workaround. Lest mehr dazu am Ende des ReadMe's, oder hier in der MS-Knowledge-Base.

To start the All-In-One solution for MS Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP DBOXII.
There's a few tips on what else you have to do more to get the DBox II with Linux running.

I advise you, with the short-circuiting (ie, enable debug mode) to be VERY CAREFUL!
The probability of destroying the original operating system of your DBox II, and they revived only by NOT officially available files, is HUGE! Therefore, I advise you to exclude the DBox II only briefly, if you're willing to live with a killed BR software (ie the need to slip on Linux).
Furthermore, it should make you think, how do you not get this necessary in the case of the case files (and not by me) from the forum! The repeatedly mentioned minflsh.tar.gz contains files © BetaResearch are, therefore, the downloading probably comes under the heading "piracy".

10/100MBit-Kombi network cards and 10/100MBit-Kombi switches / hubs make problems!
These combined cases take too long to realize that they are dealing with a 10Mbit DBox too. Therefore, they swallow the BootP request, and nothing works! So save yourself (and me) time, and tried it right away with an "old" network card, if nothing goes (and read the readme)!
This may also cause some problems 10/100Mbps messages like "RARP request ignored", etc!

It is strictly prohibited to upload the DBox II boot manager patched or modified versions of Linux or software, or BR-start, which allow the decoding of the Unpaid Pay offers!
Furthermore, I dissociate myself expressly from all these (questionable) activities. Whether that now has a legal relevance or not, it is to you (hello BR - unfortunately gives you as good as) no longer point to any case that I will have NOTHING to do with it. ) This tool (as well as all other software will be used to an alternative to the BR-have software available to hack not Pay!
