Hello , everybody, some time ago I inquired if somebody could give me an opinian whether I should buy the Vu+Duo or Dreambox 800 hd and at the time the reviews where positive.Now I Have some spare money to afford it and I come here again to ask you guys if you still advice it as a good choice,I am a bit new at this and I would like to know if this receiver still works well or gives problems.Thankyou all.

when you say the dm800 do you mean a clone or an original ,the clone dm800 has no hdmi output what it uses is more of an adadaptor and the tuner can be sensitive in that the signal levels it pulls in can be low causing freezing pictures (if the tuner issue is just down to a faulty batch of tuners or all tuners i dont know ) of course the tuner can be changed on these boxes . its also good advice to have any hard disk drive connected externaly rather then internaly due to overheating and some people have complained about the cooling fan being noisy ,on the plus side if you get a dm800 with a good tuner and you have the hdd connected externaly the box is good value at about £170 - 203 euros an original would be nearer £400 - 470 euro give or take and should not give the above problems . the vu+ duo as far as i am aware cant be faulted its got twin tuners /pvr the lot it will set you back around £400 plus but if that amount is within your budget it would be an excellent buy. of course you have to add post and packing to the price of any box you buy .
