Quote from: hooley The firmware i got from a different site works i know but it wipes out the cccam on the box, it puts it into sathawk mode. my supplier is not responding to my emails thats why i was asking, i coulnd give a shite about the small fee. i just want to get it sorted

Can you point me in the direction of the firmware that fixes AC3?

EDIT: I found it

ibcus

Ive a feeling that will lose your CCam settings on the menu. I may be wrong

ibcus

I've flashed it but my kid is watching tv now so I can't look untill later.

I can't understand why the firmware Judasonline talks about needs info from the box and is only for that box, surely it should work in any box?

Edit: You were right hooley, no cccam and only western sats in that image.
I didn't even try it, flashed back to an earlier one.

How to modify the firmware, replace the font and language files C_10CH13

The AC3 with CCcam firmware is here for anyone that's looking for it, works a treat.

Hi,

Is there anyway on flashing new firmware onto this box apart from using the USB, as box I have got here just hangs on the LCD saying 'on'?

Thanks

yes there is a serial loader for it attached, you will need a null modem cable, connect it to your pc, start the software and choose the firmware file, as soon as you press next (for it to start looking for the box) turn the receiver on and it should sync and upload the firmware

calisto

HI,

Thanks for your fast reply a025

Have tried to use this loader but when I goto load the firmware, it comes up with this error 'Set stb memory error'

On the settings page am using the following:
Com3 which is the right com port
Bits Rate 115200
Parity Even

& not ticking the Include Bootloader opition

Thanks for your help.

Calisto

g3o

keep the receiver switched off and turn it on immediately after pressing next, the firmware that is included has the bootloader also so you can tick this to include it.

calisto

Thanks M8, have tried what you said but still keeps coming up with same error!!!!

That method does work, I did it today on an Openbox (solomend clone)
As he says start program and select firmware, click next.
Turn box on, it should say it is synced but say under that something about restarting the box, DONT.. just leave it, wait and it will continue.

Has anyone noticed that some S*y Sports channels make the box reboot then get stuck in a rebooting loop if you try to change channel or access the menu?

Today is the first time I have really played with the box and it drove me nuts, you simply have to unplug your sat feed and you can access the menu and change channel. Very strange.

Here is a dump I took today (using NM_HDS2_CMT_1007120293.abs) with the offending channels removed, 7 groups of favourites but you will probably have to rename them from fav 1, fav 2 etc. For some reason it doesn't save that.

Favorites are:
Entertainment
Movies
HD Channels
Factual
Kids
Music
Sports

Not perfect but it's a start.

This is 28.2e Only.

It might have worked on your box m8 but it has not on mine, it does not say it has synced with box, just this error message 'Set stb memory error'

Thanks anway
